Secure your lifetime Mental Canvas plan by February 18
Four years ago we launched Creator, the one-time purchase plan for Mental Canvas Draw, as a thank-you to our incredible artist community. You’ve pushed our app to new heights – creating expansive worlds and animations to capture personal moments and promote global brands. It’s been an honor to see Mental Canvas become a vibrant, international community.
As we look to the future, we need to ensure Mental Canvas keeps serving our community sustainably. Starting February 18, 2025, we'll be fully transitioning to a subscription-based model. This decision wasn't made lightly, but it will enable us to deliver regular updates, strengthen our team, and develop new features.
While Creator will no longer be available for purchase, existing Creator users will keep their lifetime access. The free version of Mental Canvas will continue to be available to everyone, ensuring our community remains open and accessible.
In the coming weeks, we’ll introduce an exciting suite of new features, including an improved web player, an enhanced workflow for importing images, and a brand-new VR player. The new update will debut on iOS on February 18, with a Windows release to follow in the months ahead.
The price change takes effect on iOS on February 18, with Windows to follow soon.
The Creator Plan provides full access to Mental Canvas Draw, with the following features:
The Creator Plan is available to purchase in-app through the Microsoft Store and App Store.
If this does not answer your question please contact support.
Yes, it's a one-time purchase. It's not a subscription, so you will not be charged again.
You can only upgrade in the app, see steps above.
Download Mental Canvas Draw on iOS or Windows and sign in, if you don't already have it installed on your device. Then you can upgrade in the app following the steps above. Open the main menu and select "upgrade" and then tap on the one-time purchase option to buy through the store.
Yes. Creator plans are platform-specific – having Creator on iOS doesn't give you Creator access on Windows, and vice versa. The Pro subscription plans do enable you to use the software on both platforms.
Yes, but only on the same platform. Your iOS Creator license will work across all your iOS devices, and your Windows Creator license works on all your Windows computers. However, licenses don't cross over between platforms—you'll need separate purchases for iOS and Windows.
No. If you've purchased the Creator plan, you'll keep lifetime access to all existing features. Your experience won't change, and you'll even receive some of our planned improvements at no additional cost.
There is no need to delete and reinstall, it should update automatically. If it does not, please reach out to us at support@mentalcanvas.com.
Your Creator license is tied to your Mental Canvas account and your Apple or Microsoft account, not your device. If you get a new device on the same platform (like upgrading from an old iPad to a new one, or switching Windows computers), you can simply sign in to your account on the new device and continue using Creator.
You will get bug-fixes, but new features are not guaranteed.
The new features and subscription model will launch first on iOS on February 18, 2025. The Windows changes will follow in the months ahead. Until the update, the Windows version of Mental Canvas will remain on the old pricing.
Yes. If you're a Creator user, you can try our subscription plans while keeping your lifetime access. You can always switch back to your Creator plan after your subscription expires.
Publishing to web enables you to share your Mental Canvas scenes online with our interactive web player. Anyone with the link, on any device, can open your scene. Viewers can play through your bookmark path and interactively explore the scene.
We'll announce detailed pricing for our new subscription tiers closer to the launch date. We're committed to making Mental Canvas accessible with plans that fit different needs and budgets.
Our new plans will include enhanced features like our improved web player, streamlined image importing, and a new VR player. We'll share a complete feature list at launch.
It depends on your primary platform and workflow. You have two options:
1. Buy Creator separately – Purchase Creator on iOS before Feb 18 and again on Windows to maintain access on both.
2. Wait for our new subscription plans – These will work across both platforms once launched.
Keep in mind that while project files are generally cross-compatible, iOS files created after Feb 18 won’t open on Windows until we update the Windows version.
